Come one, come all to the Greatest Picnic on Earth!
The circus is coming to town and pitching its tent at Whitehaven Park this Saturday, June 15, from 3:30–7:30 pm.
For four hours only, experience an exciting carnival atmosphere replete with live animals, festive music, delicious food and circus fare, thrilling raffles and games of chance, and not-to-be missed sideshows with magicians, card readers, and a wellness table for a spine-tingling massage or acupuncture treatment.
So hop on the bandwagon, head to the Whitehaven and 37th Green Lot, and enjoy the show!
Sponsored by the Burleith Citizens Association and co-chaired by Lenore Rubino and Melanie Gisler, the picnic is made possible thanks to generous donations from Georgetown University, MedStar Georgetown Hospital, Chryssa Wolfe of Hanlon Design Build, Petco, and Washington Fine Properties/Lenore G. Rubino.
Enjoy a pre-picnic Burleith history and nature walking tour with Dwane Starlin and Patterson Clark from 2–3:30 pm. Meet at Hardy Middle School’s west entrance (35th & T).
Take the Green Picnic Challenge and help reduce waste by using the appropriate compost/recycle/waste bins. Bonus points for bringing your own water bottle or cup.
Volunteer to help set up and take down on Saturday. Email email@example.com if you can pitch in.
