It’s that time again! Our Halloween Tot Lot Party is just around the corner! We look forward to seeing our neighborhood witches, ghosts, and goblins, as well as our princesses, Yodas, and Harry Potters. Last year we had more families than ever, and a rollicking good time. It’s a great opportunity to meet the neighbors and to introduce yourselves to the tot lot regulars! You don’t need to have a little one to join the festivities - we have treats for everyone, and some crafts and games too.
Regarding the treats, we like to provide something healthy before the candypalooza begins. We ask that families bring something healthy to share, such as fruit slices, or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Our neighborhood merchants have been very generous in the past providing food and drink, including Einstein Bros., Ledo Pizza, Safeway, Whole Foods and Starbucks Coffee. Special thanks to our neighbor, Marjorie Wolfe, who contributed a check to offset our costs last year.
We welcome volunteers (especially college students) to oversee craft tables, set out food and man the games. Georgetown and George Washington students helped us out last year and also made crafts with the kids. We couldn’t have done it without them. |
