Join Burleith residents Dwane Starlin, member of the Guild of Professional Tour Guides and co-author of Images of America: Burleith, and Patterson Clark, publisher of www.alienweeds.com, for a delightful walking tour of our unique village within the city.

The free tour, which takes place on Saturday, June 15, 2–3:30 pm, begins at Hardy Middle School’s west entrance (35th & T Streets) and ends at Whitehaven Park just in time for the Burleith summer picnic.

Tour Highlights

  • Visits to all five of Burleith’s refurbished call boxes

  • Absorbing anecdotes about presidential candidates and their grandchildren, World War II generals, U.S. astronauts, spies, celebrities, artists, poets, and other well-known residents.

  • Hands-on learning about the trees, plants, and weeds that line Whitehaven Parkway.

Donations are accepted and will go the Burleith Community Fund, a 501(c)(3) entity. The book Burleith will be on sale at the picnic.
