Vice President’s Message
/By John McGeary, president@burleith.org
Dear BCA Members & Residents,
I trust everyone is having a great summer…it always goes by so fast. As your incoming BCA President, I wanted to take a moment to thank Eric Langenbacher for his years of service as our community’s leader. During his tenure, Eric has been our neighborhood's leading advocate and always has a pulse on the issues that could affect Burlieth…good, bad, or indifferent. On behalf of the BCA Board, we Thank You!
The BCA Board and committees will continue to work on your behalf on the usual issues as well as keep you up to date on what’s coming down the pike along with ways we can collaborate as neighbors to improve our community.
As we turn the corner into September, I wanted to highlight a few fall-related reminders…
School’s Back! Students of all ages will be returning, which means we need to be vigilant in watching students at crosswalks, bus stops, on bikes, scooters, etc.
Fall Clean Up: And that just doesn’t mean leaves… please take the time to make sure your tree boxes in front of your homes are trimmed and clean.
Trash: Please remember to keep your bins clean, closed, and returned to your designated location after the trash is picked up. Your neighbors will appreciate the extra effort. If your bin is damaged or has holes in it, please request a new one on the 311 app. It may take a while, but they will bring you a replacement.
SAVE THE DATE: We look forward to seeing you at the Fall Picnic which was changed from the summer timeframe to the fall. We look forward to seeing everyone at the WIS School on October 17th. More details to follow.
Volunteers Needed: We need your help. Please consider signing up for the Transportation Working Group, the Picnic Co-Chair role, and Community Clean-ups. Please email bca@burleith.org if you are interested in helping with one or more of these activities.
Please feel free to reach out to the BCA Board or me if you have any questions or concerns, and I look forward to serving the community.
John McGeary
Vice President, Burleith Citizens Association
