Burleith Looks Spiffy!

With a record turnout of over 45(!) hearty volunteers from Burleith, an enthusiastic group of GU students, GU Facilities, and GU Office of Neighborhood Life, the Burleith Citizens Association conducted its annual fall community clean-up on Saturday morning, November 6. Volunteers picked up litter (lots and lots of candy wrappers from Halloween festivities), bulk items, yard and medical waste, and more! We had a good turnout for such a chilly morning. We welcomed some new neighbors to Burleith and received lots of help from the next generation of neighborhood stewards (Burleith kids!).

Thanks to all of the volunteers and organizers—especially Cory Peterson and Gwen Coleman of GU's Office of Neighborhood Life (ONL) whose many years of assisting in the semi-annual cleanup events have helped keep Burleith beautiful; and Janice Sims, community leader and co-chair of the Georgetown Community Partnership Environment and Landlord Initiatives Working Group, who has volunteered to help keep Burleith beautiful for nearly a decade.
