General Election News

The District of Columbia Board of Elections (DCBOE) reminds District residents that in-person voter registration is available up to and including Election Day. While October 16 was the deadline to register online, by mail, or through its mobile app, Vote4DC, residents can still register after October 16 in person. Interested residents can come to the Board’s office at 1015 Half Street SE, Suite 750, to register in person anytime until Election Day. Voters can also register at the polls either during Early Voting (at any Early Voting Center) or at the polling place for their current address on Election Day.

Whether registering at the office or at the polls, a proof of address will be required. Acceptable proofs of address include:

Current and valid District of Columbia DMV issued ID; government check or paycheck*; bank statement*; current utility bill*; student housing statement/tuition bill; homeless shelter occupancy statement; lease; other government document (* The issue, bill, or statement date must be within 90 days of Election Day.)
