The Burleith Citizens Association and the Neighborhood Study Group invite Burleith residents and owners to a community meeting to ask the experts about how DC's new zoning regulations affect our neighborhood.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 15, from 7–8:30 pm, at Washington International School at 36th and R Streets. Doors open at 6:45 pm.

Formerly in R3, Burleith is now an R20 zone. Details on what this entails can be found in Chapter 12 of the new zoning regulations. Some changes: the maximum allowable height is now 35 feet and how this is measured has changed. There are also detailed rules about accessory dwellings.

Speakers from the DC Office of Planning and DC Office of Zoning will
answer such questions as …

  • Are basement rentals now legal?
  • Can I build out the front of my house?
  • How high can I build?
  • Can I build an accessory building or put on a roof deck?
