On May 16, atop Washington Harbour, Bob was recognized for his commitment and years of engagement in civic activities in the Georgetown community. Gail Nordheimer, president of the Georgetown Village board of directors, presented Bob with a specially designed plaque highlighting his accomplishments on a map of Georgetown. Currently president of the Citizens Association of Georgetown after many years on its board, Bob was the founding vice president of the Village and continues his involvement as a board member and an active volunteer. He also spearheaded the campaign to create Georgetown Waterfront Park and now serves as president of its Friends group.

Georgetown Village, which serves Burleith and the surrounding area, is a non-profit organization that provides our communities with services and activities so that neighbors can remain in their own homes and neighborhoods. The funds raised at this event support Village activities and its subsidized membership program for residents who are unable to afford the annual membership fee. To join the Village, make a gift, or become a volunteer, contact executive director Lynn Golub-Rofrano at 999-8988 or lynn@georgetown-village.org.
