DC State Fair

The DC State Fair is a free showcase of the region’s agricultural and artistic talents. The seventh annual celebration will take place on Sunday, August 28, 2016, from 11 am to 8 pm at NoMa Junction at Storey Park (1005 First Street NE). Admission to the Fair is FREE and contests are open to all District residents.

Founded in 2010 to celebrate the urban agricultural, culinary, and artistic talents of District residents, the DC State Fair has all the hallmarks of traditional state and county fairs: baking, cooking, gardening, and art contests, music and entertainment, educational demos, children's activities, food, drinks, and all kinds of homegrown fun.

Contests include annual favorites like best pie, tastiest tomato, heaviest vegetable, best home brew, jams and jellies, honey, and more.

New this year are the chili cook-off, best mumbo sauce, and best upcycled object contests. Fair-goers can also sign up for on-the-spot contests: a sloppy-joe eating contest sponsored by Neat Meat food truck, a hula-hoop contest, best tattoo, fix-a-bike-flat relay, a dance-off, and more. The popular pet parade is back, too!

The DC State Fair is a 501c3 nonprofit run entirely by volunteers and supported by generous donations from DC residents, local businesses, and community organizations. The Fair welcomes your financial support in continuing to keep this event free for everyone in the District to enjoy.
