  GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY CAMPUS PLAN

Since the adoption of the 1958 Zoning Regulations, Georgetown University has submitted nine campus plans to the DC Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) for review and approval. Because the University operates under a special use permit by the BZA, any proposed development is evaluated by the BZA with respect to impact on the surrounding community. The BZA is primarily concerned with noise, traffic, student enrollment, and other issues that affect the neighboring properties. The University's most recent campus plan approval is its 2000 Plan, which was approved, with certain conditions, by the BZA in March 29, 2001. However, the University has appealed the BZA's order.

The Georgetown University Campus Plan can be found at http://www.georgetown.edu/facilities/architect/masterplan.html.

For some community perspective on the campus plan, please visit the Campus Plan Archives.
