The Burleith Bell is the award winning monthly newsletter of the Burleith Citizens Association (BCA). In 2004 and
again in 2009, it received the Outstanding Member Association Newsletter award from the D.C. Federation of Civic Associations.
The citation from the October 31, 2009 award reads:
CITATION:
The Association Newsletter renamed The Burleith Bell in 2004, has a long history of providing information of interest
to Burleith residents. In addition to featuring association meetings and monthly events, it provides a two-page calendar
of other community meetings and activities. Sponsored events include the Ides of March Winter Gala, Spring Clean-up, and
Summer Picnic. It keeps the community informed of the Georgetown University Campus Plan, activities of the District government,
as well as routine trash pickup, leaf collection, and snow removal. There is a regular President's Message, currently by
Chris Clements. It is supported in part by ads from neighborhood businesses. In short, The Bell gives residents in Burleith a
sense that they are a part of a vibrant community, and informs them about issues and opportunities in the area. It is currently
edited by Pat Davies and Chris Clements.
The Burleith Bell is free and delivered to all Burleith households. Funding comes from
advertisements from local merchants and from dues of the members of the Burletih Citizens Association. It you are not
already a member, we encourage you to join now and support your community.
